Red Mountain Park

With over 15 miles of biking/hiking trails, 2 miles of flat walking trails, a dog park, 3 tree houses, 2 overlooks, and 3 historical mining sites, there is plenty to do at Red Mountain. They even have adventure passes to zip line courses, an 80 ft climbing tower, a treetop challenge course, and more.
Limstone Park Canoe Rental
1531 Limestone Pkwy, Brierfield, AL 35035
If you live in Birmingham, you have to raft down the Cahaba River at least once. Pack a cooler, rent your tube, and float down the river for hours with your friends. It’s a fun way to spend a day enjoying beautiful Alabama.
Avondale Brewing Company

This is one of the best spots for a large group. There are plenty of tables, a huge grassy area, and multiple bars to order from. They frequently have live bands and that patio is 🐶 dog friendly, so your best friend doesn’t have to miss out on the fun!
Roots & Revelry

🥂 This patio is made for Instagram-worthy outdoor brunches. Located in the Thomas Jefferson building downtown, Roots & Revelry does an excellent job blending historic charm, amazing food, and great service.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
2612 Lane Park Rd, Birmingham, AL 35223
The gardens are open from dawn until dusk every day of the year. There are 30 thematic gardens and lots of events & classes throughout the year. So take a stroll and enjoy the beautiful blooms that the garden’s 67.5 acres offer.
Highland Park Golf Course
3300 Highland Avenue South Birmingham, AL 35205
Located in the heart of downtown, you can overlook the Birmingham skyline while playing 18 holes. The course is open to the public and the rates are reasonable. So book a tee time on Alabama’s oldest golf course.

This is a hidden local favorite located inside an architectural salvage shop courtyard. There is wisteria blooming overhead and garden sculptures everywhere. The perfect spot to grab a beer (or sandwich) and enjoy the nice weather.

Located in Homewood’s trendy Soho Square, Soho Social has a full menu of juicy burgers, a variety of tacos, hearty appetizers, a full cocktail menu, and more. There is plenty of seating (and umbrellas⛱️) on their spacious patio.
Moss Rock Preserve
617 Preserve Way, Hoover, AL 35226
This spot isn’t just for rock climbing enthusiasts. Located in Hoover, Moss Rock has a huge boulder field, 12 miles of trails, a waterfall, and a 350 acre nature preserve. If you work up an appetite there are 2 restaurants at the entrance of the trail, Vecchia Pizzeria & Mercato and Moss Rock Tacos & Tequila.

Support Birmingham’s professional soccer team for their first season in the Magic City. Games are played at the newly renovated BBVA Compass field.

A walking trail built in an old railroad bed stretches through downtown and leads to the Jones Valley Trail which connects to Sloss Furnaces. It’s an easy walk with plenty of places to stop and rest and modern landscaping throughout.
